The letter for parents/guardians WMS

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your cooperation and support during this time of careful planning. The teachers and I have been working closely together. We have prepared an eLearning program for our students; your children. You will have to be able to access your Librus account. Our main office will be sending you an email with all your information and passcode for your Librus account.

There will be daily posts to each family with classroom work and activities to guide all of you through each day. While we will not be able to use all our beautiful Montessori materials, we will be sending work home that will simulate the classroom experience and the Montessori spirit. In guiding you and your child through this experience, we have prepared for you a few guidelines. Each day should contain these elements:

  • Establish a routine for studying
  • A quiet place for working
  • Clear directions and communication
  • A chance to explore
  • Play or activity (movement)
  • Nourishment
  • Creative expression
  • Concentration
  • Consistency

To help you get started, build a special place for your child to work. Your child will need:

  • Table or desk. Place the desk in a place where there is good ventilation and near a window to be able to see outdoors.
  • Desk lamp
  • Writing paper, notebooks
  • Journal
  • Pencils, pens, an eraser, pencil sharpener, colored pencils
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Glue
  • Watercolors & brush
  • Books for reading (taking a break)
  • A water bottle

At times they may need access to a laptop. However, during the study times, refrain from your child watching movies, You Tube, or playing games. This will keep study time consistent with school routines.

Also talk to your child about the situation:

Our teachers are available on Librus, office staff and I are available either through phone or e-mail to you and our students during the regular school hours, Monday to Friday. Please do not hesitate to contact us.

Good Luck to everyone. STAY HOME, stay happy and stay healthy.

Sincerely Yours,

Sylvia Macias Dworkin, Principal
