First Grade Ceremony
Each year, schools around Poland welcome First Graders as official students to the world of education. We at Casa dei Bambini, Warsaw Montessori School, share in this long time tradition of the initiation of students. Our ceremony, this year, is held on Friday, October 19th. The ceremony includes all aged students as presenters of advice, helpful information and as a support to their younger school mates.
The first graders themselves, sing songs, recite poems and take a pledge to be life-long learners and seekers of knowledge. The ceremony includes the receiving of a school pin, a gift of a wooden, hand carved, “wise old owl” and a family portrait to remember the day. The ceremony is, lastly, followed by a reception for our honored students and their parents.
