Mythology in a different way….
This past month our Polish language classes were about mythology.
The students of grades 3 and 4 at Warsaw Montessori School took part in a feast of the gods, together with Zeus – they went to Mount Olympus, lit a spark from the chariot of the sun with Prometheus, found out what the saying “Sisyphus’ work” means and how much we owe to Greek culture. At the end of the class the students prepared a presentation titled: “Mythological Gods”.
Mythology has for centuries been a constant source of creative inspiration in the widely understood field of art. It was no different in the case of the students of grades III and IV, who captured the fantastic stories of Greek deities and titans and their Roman counterparts.
The performance was a meeting of the future with the past, it stimulated the imagination of the younger children and revealed to them the mysteries of the world of mythology.
